Day 25: Sweet Darkness (#30Daysof Harvest)

…Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness
to learn

anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive

is too small for you.

— David Whyte

I’ve written several times about the value of Endarkenment. Last night at our Red Tent Circle, we had a seed ceremony and talked about how beautiful things can take root in dark places. Time spent curled up in the dark is necessary before things can bloom.

Beautiful, I love how you need to be like a seed sometimes. Be in the dark before you can grow. In this dark time of the year it is necessary to be quiet and listen.

    • Thank you! I find the image of a seed, curled up cozy and dark, a very nourishing way to look at the darkness… 🙂
